Poland has a lot to offer to its visitors and considering its landscape it is obvious – a largely varied countryside is a Polish characteristic. Not less interesting than the landscape is Polish history which was a very dramatic one. This country can truly say that it has survived. That is especially so if you consider the fact that it was partitioned by Russia, Prussia and Austria in the year 1795. Poland seized to exist for 100 years. At that period, no one could guess that Poland will gain its independence again. And even more frightening development occurred – the World War II, a six year period of German and Soviet occupation where millions of people lost their lives and the damage the country suffered cannot be calculated. Even after these events, Poland continued to exist and, no wonder, that at precisely this time, it is experiencing its most relevant period of advancement in every area.
