Sibenik Croatia – Travel Destinations

Sibenik is the only town on the Adriatic Sea which has no Greek-Roman heritage. Founded around the eleventh century, it fell under the Venetians in the fifteenth century, becoming an outpost for their battle with the Ottomans. Visit Croatia – Travel Guide Information

Many of you will perhaps know where Dubrovnik is?! This city is located at the extreme south end of Republic of Croatia. Lots of Croatians play jokes by saying that it should be sufficient to write where Dubrovnik is situated instead of the country itself because of belief that this city, with its beauty, sometimes overshadows the country itself. Well, once you step into Dubrovnik you will know why this is so. Entire old city core is a part of UNESCO World Heritage and as such is known as the Pearl of the Adriatic. Nevertheless, Croatia is each year attracting more and more visitors willing to relax and experience Mediterranean. Croatia is situated in Central and South-eastern Europe with its unusual, some say birdlike, shape. Croatia consists of three provinces and they are Dalmatia, Istria and Slavonia out of which you will prefer Dalmatia for your summer vacations because of the crystal clear sea. This country has elongated coastline where numerous adorable towns are located. Other than summer, winter would be delightful here when snow covers its plains and mountains that have settled in the heart of Croatia. There are 698 islands in Croatian Sea which makes this archipelago second largest in Mediterranean Sea (right after the Greek archipelago). You will certainly find your place under the Sun here but to help you with your choice we will suggest you to visit the island of Hvar that is considered one of the ten most beautiful islands in the world.
